I found this image at Flickr by means of a Google search for "okun". Seems like there's alot of listings for "Okun" everywhere you search....Google, Yahoo, Myspace, Facebook, Linedin...and other social networks and search engines.

Even the latest on the "Ed Okun" ponzi scandal. (Do a Google search). There's always a bad apple on the family tree....but, is the "tree" in our "yard"? (Figure that one out on your own...).

If we took all the Okuns and Samsons that are listed on the internet, I betcha we'd have one huge family to enter as the largest in the Guiness Book of World Records....but then again, we'd be competeing against the Smiths, Jones, Lees, Gonzolez and Rodriguez families.

Better just to have a family reunion at the Las Vegas Convention Center.....just a thoguht.

Since I'm in the website / internet marketing industry, perhaps I should create a website devoted to Okun-Samson rather than a blog.....hmmmm....not a bad idea....but who has the time?

Another Update from the Carbones!

Hello again! Just wanted to update you all on what's new in our lives since my last post.

Well, first of all, we bought a house! Its in the same town we lived in before (Oviedo), but in a more "suburban" area. Its 3bd/2.5ba + loft. We have a 1/4 acre lot, with a great backyard where i've started a little vegetable garden (and hopefully I can convince Jon on the idea of getting a dog :-) ) Here's a picture of our home!

I am DONE with school, and I'll be graduating with my Masters in Clinical Social Work degree on May 2nd!!! Mom and Dad will be flying in for the occasion . Pictures to follow, of course :-)
I am also very happy to report that I will be walking across the stage with a job! (actually two jobs)....... I start April 28th as a Full-Time Foster Care Case Manager for Devereux Florida. I also accepted a per-diem position (occasional weekends here and there) with ConfiCare Home Health, as a Medical Social Worker doing home visits with their home health patients in need of social services.

And, in true Nuko-Nosmas fashion, here is a picture of our crazy family (plus a few Druckers) acting like our "normal" selves at our wedding!

Lastly, here's a link to some more pictures from the wedding ---- A big thanks to Bo Landy! - he's the young photographer who was at our wedding ---- he was so generous to photograph our wedding for FREE, so if you see any pictures you like at this link, please consider supporting him by purchasing the photo from his site...... Thanks!

Hi everyone. We are all praying for Brooke Samson Miller's speedy recovery and hope that everyone else is doing well. Would love to start a family page so that we can add and keep track of happenings within our family tree. How do we get started?

Well, last December a number of us got together for Tejah Okun's wedding. We had such a good time we would like to do something this December. Someone suggested a cruise. This is what I have found so far. I joined YTB (Your Travel Biz) which is powered by Travelocity and its travel rates are 95% of the time less than or equal to what we find on the internet search engines. If we can book travel at a savings I am all for it. My site is ... livelife4travel.com so please check it out.

Cruises: 4 or 5 nites - leaving from L.A or Long Beach or ... San Diego Dec. 27 or 29 $609 (Oceanview) $545.03 (Inside) Catalena, Ensenada, LA

Let me know your thoughts and comments. What would you like?

So, it has been a while since I've posted anything..... so here's an update.

I'm still in grad school -- I'm in my last semester now and I graduate May 2nd. I am currently involved in a research project at the BETA Center, which is an agency which provides services to pregnant teens.. it also does community outreach and teen pregnancy prevention.. I'll be facilitating two focus groups with parents to find out what services are lacking --- then I'll be analyzing the data and writing a paper (hopefully) for publication. I should also have my name on a couple other papers by the end of the semester, since I am also involved in an independent study and am a research assistant on campus .... but we shall see how that goes....

As most of you know, Jon and I got married on December 30th, 2007. We were surrounded by 120 of our closest family and friends -- it was wonderful! That being said, we are definitely glad the planning process and all the hooplah is over, so we can now enjoy being married! We are in the process of looking at houses, and hope to put it an offer by the end of the month.... more on that as it develops!

Jon started working Full-time in January at Northrop Grumman as a Software Engineer --- he's really enjoying it -- and we are both enjoying our newfound financial security :-)

He's still actively involved in the UCF Robotics team, and will be traveling to Michigan again in May to compete.

I will be in Tallahassee, FL on March 30th with the FL chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, to lobby the FL legislature on various issues pertaining to the social work profession.

I think that is about it for now.... here's a couple of wedding pics for you all..... more to follow later.
